SUMMER READING LISTS 2026

Each year our primary teachers and the secondary Language & Literature teachers create 'Reading Lists' for students, which we make available to all families before the start of the summer holidays. We share these reading lists throughout the year in the spirit of encouraging a love of reading in young people and to help parents who are looking for age-appropriate books for their children.

Students: you should choose the reading list for the year group that you will enter in September 2026.

Summer Reading Lists for Primary 2026

For younger age groups, the aim is simply to encourage children to read a few age-appropriate English-language books during the holidays to maintain and reinforce the literacy skills that they are learning in school - and to enjoy reading! The books suggested are a mixture of well-loved classics, contemporary favourites and feature both fiction and non-fiction. None of the titles listed are compulsory for this age group: we encourage children to read widely and in different forms, from comics to audio books. Happy summer reading!
