In January 2026 the Lycée MUN Debating Club visited the World Health Office in Lyon, where they had the opportunity to participate in a live debate in real-world setting. Mr Rattos (club organiser) writes:
Our Model United Nations debate held at the World Health Organisation office in Lyon was an outstanding success, marked by exceptionally high levels of preparation and diplomacy. Delegates demonstrated impressive knowledge of global health policy, engaging in thoughtful negotiation, lively points of information, and well-structured resolutions throughout the session. The students were thoroughly engaged from start to finish and clearly had a fantastic time, combining rigorous debate with genuine enthusiasm and collaboration.
We are looking forward to future opportunities to interact with the WHO and other global organisations based in Lyon. Thanks are due to Mme Chabera (Anglophone Section parent) who organised the WHO visit on our behalf.
The upcoming ILYMUN Conference (12-14 March), which will be hosted at the Hôtel de Région Rhône-Alpes in Lyon, is another excellent opportunity for our students to hone their debating skills in a professional and purpose built-space. We wish them all the best for their final preparations!
